Description: Just messing around with RR Frontier Days kit. Tried to get the page to look like a blog but I always seem to think bigger is better. I cut out the gulf of Mexico to put the picture in, but would be better to just put a frame there, can't find pictures that fit the gulf. My grandfather went back and forth from Arkansas to Texas. Most of the kids in this picture stayed in Texas.

Description: When I was a teenager in the 90's i lived for the collector phase- you know - heavy on the porcelain and crystal and boyds bears. that stuff is so not me and I realize now I was just trying to be more girly for my mom and make smart " investments" with my allowance they way she thought was best. Description: This was when it was just my older sister and I. Wish I could remember what was so funny. I do remember following her to school, she had to bring me back home. I guess I can use the phrase "back in the day". I didn't do so good with lining this up. Our cooler went out and it has been in the high 90's and I think my brain melted. Description: I wasn�t particularly surprised that my parents got divorced when I was around 8. It was no secret that they couldn�t stand each other. But it was still a blow to me, none the less. People in my small town didn�t seem to get divorced that often then. At least, I never knew anyone that did. An even bigger shock? That my mom had a boyfriend not that long after ( but long is an undefinable term when you are that young, so who knows how long it really was.) I guess it was kind of like fate for them since they dated when she was 16, and then they run into each other at a 7-11 like ten years later? Anyways, I was bit upset over the whole thing, but not as much as you might expect. Tom was actually pretty nice, & really funny! We hit it off pretty well, and eventhough he had always been a bach-elor, he treated mom and I really nice. He let me be in their wedding, in 1990, which my own dad forbade in 83�. He replayed Knights in White Satin over and over again on a RECORD player during my song stenographer days. He gave me coffee to drink when I asked for it and often moved animals when mowing our giant yard, just to make me feel better. He tried to teach me how to box. He even tried to adopt me, but my real dad never let that happen ( not too sure why though.) Some of our most quality time was spent in the rumbling cab of his Mack truck while we gathered milk from dairy farms. He did his job and I got to go play with horses and farm cats. Though we haven�t seen each other in years, I will always be grateful for Tom�s kindness to me as a kid. I may not have always appreciated it then, but now I know it must have been hard to be a step dad. He pull ed it off marvelously. journaled 08-08-09 I have been estranged from my family ( mainly my mother, and therefore my stepdad)for years, but that doesn't make Tom's acceptance of me as his kid any less special.
